Perhaps his detective skills would have had some actual results if he were able to pronounce Nikon correctly to the inebriated guests attending the festivities at the French embassy in 2008? Here is a refresher . . . Air Nippon Airways, Nissan, and Nikon are all derived from “Nippon” which is one way to read the 日本, which means Japan.
